The Victorian Gay and Lesbian Rights Lobby

The Victorian Gay and Lesbian Rights Lobby works for and with the whole gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer (LGBTIQ) community to end discrimination and to achieve equality and social justice.
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans*, Gender Diverse and Intersex (LGBTI) workers continue to face discrimination when seeking work and once they are in a job, despite the fact that it is unlawful. Every union and employer has a responsibility to challenge this discrimination. Click HERE to read a comprehensive guide for Unions and Employer Representatives on LGBTI issues.

Do you want to be part of the VGLRL Committee?

Are you interested in supporting the VGLRL to lobby government on LGBTI rights and achieve positive legal and social outcomes for our community?  Are you a passionate advocate with the drive, commitment and time to help make a difference?  We are interested in receiving applications from people who have experience in politics, law reform, campaigning, community engagement, events management and those who feel they can significantly contribute to the work of the VGLRL.  You will have the opportunity to be involved in and lead activities that make an impact in the LGBTIQ community.

The VGLRL wants to hear from you!

Our community survey gives you the opportunity to tell us what is important to you and what you think we as a committee should be focusing on. This year we are also interested in hearing about your perception of Victoria Police, what you would report to the police and how safe you would fee. The VGLRL is a member of the Victoria Police LGBTI Priority Reference Group and will use this information to proactively champion LGBTI rights, concerns and influence the way the police work with our community. If you did not complete the survey at Midsumma or Chill Out then please follow this link:
